In 1994, Theatrelight followed the international wave by establishing the industry's first joint venture in China, Zhuhai Teli, and in 2004, 10 years after the expiration of the joint venture, Theatrelight re-established a new company in Zhongshan, Guangdong Province, wholly owned and managed by Theatrelight - Zhongshan New Teli Lighting Co. All Theatrelight products continue to be developed in New Zealand, but all assembly and production is now firmly rooted in China, with a stable of long term multi-channel suppliers. The Zhongshan Xintaili factory will continue to provide safe, reliable and high quality products to the Chinese and overseas markets.
